About the session

Design research often brings to light pain points, or difficulties people experience being in the world. Research on the experience of people trying to access government safety net benefits surfaces pain points that immediately and critically affect people’s livelihoods.

In this talk, we’ll break down the unique challenges that come with making and prioritising product and service recommendations when everything seems important, if not absolutely vital.

Participant Takeaways:

  • Leverage the unique considerations for making product and service recommendations for government, including how to apply trauma-informed and de-colonising principles when writing recommendations
  • Make traditional prioritisation frameworks like impact vs. effort more human-centred
  • Apply an ethos of care to ongoing prioritisation efforts in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders

Themes:

Research, Insights, Product Development, Prioritisation
