About the session
In this session, Stephanie will start with accessibility and digital capability, go beyond by looking at people’s identity, power and privilege, introduce the concept of universal barriers, shifting the focus from the individual to the barriers anyone can face and give recommendations to be inclusive while designing and delivering a service.
We will look at the difference between accessibility and inclusion, what assisted digital support is and the digital divide. This will lead to the concept of universal barriers, with some concrete examples and Stéphanie’s personal experience of applying for the EU Settled status to illustrate inclusion issues. More resources will be shared to explore all these after the session.
This is a talk, it’s not an interactive session but there will be time to ask questions at the end.
