About the session

Germany might not be the first country that comes to mind when thinking about design-driven policy – but the DigitalService as the Government's digitalization unit set out to change that. In this interactive session, we will share our learnings on digital-ready legislation and invite you to try our approach.

Lena Mohr

Lena had already worked several years as a UX designer and researcher when she started to look for a more meaningful field to apply her skills.

Taking a break from her freelance projects, she got in touch with the DigitalService during a three-month fellowship. In a small, interdisciplinary team, she worked with the government's department responsible for the Digital Strategy and was amazed by the motivation and dedication of the policymakers she met.

She decided to join the field of public services full-time and is now working on redesigning the process of digital-ready legislation.

Besides process mapping and asking the right questions, she writes children’s stories about empowerment and equality.
