About the session
It’s great to see more and more conversations around being trauma-informed practices being adopted outside of therapeutic/ care services, and even within design. But what does that look like exactly? And where does one even get started? Is there a magic recipe to follow?
This talk will introduce becoming more trauma informed within the design space and the reasons why it’s worth going there. There might not be a magic recipe but there are some key ingredients that can help get things going.
Participant takeaways:
- What is trauma anyway, and why the fuss?
- Why we should (all) care about trauma in design
- How we can do better (i.e. respond to trauma)
- How to know if we’re doing it right
