About the session

During this session, a cross-disciplinary team will share a series of practical learnings from previous experiences implementing Systemic Design methods in projects that tackled complex issues within the public sector (e.g., Vaccination Booking Systems, Patient Safety, Workforce Management, and Failure Demand).

These learnings will guide a conversation to review core Systems Thinking concepts that are applicable to design challenges, alongside a set of frameworks to map the complexities, tensions, and opportunities of rolling out systemic interventions to improve public services.

Participant takeaways:

  • Understanding the nature of Systemic Design in practice
  • Identifying the problems and scenarios for which Systemic Design could bring value to the government
  • Using some practical tools to explore the application of Systems Thinking concepts in a design context
  • Recognising practical limitations of the methodology in terms of specific design stages

This session has a session number cap of 30 participants
